NOTICE OF DEATH - ROGER DOWSON
It is with regret that the Club has to announce the death of Associate Member Roger Dowson who passed away on Saturday 4 February after a short illness.
Roger, who joined the Club in 1980, started his career in 1979 as chief race mechanic for Gerry Marshall Racing helping Gerry to many victories over the subsequent years.
Roger set up Roger Dowson Engineering in 1983 and based the business at Silverstone Circuit. The company helped with the preparation of many championship winning cars including those that competed in the European Touring Car championship, the Metro Challenge championship and British Touring Cars championship.
Condolences have been passed to Roger’s wife, Jenny.
Following a private cremation, a service of Thanksgiving and Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at St. Michael’s Church, Silverstone on Tuesday 21st February at 11.15am.
Family flowers only. Donations to Cancer Research UK (Melanoma) and Macmillan Cancer Support will be collected at the church.
After the service, you are invited to join the family for refreshments at the BRDC Clubhouse. As parking in the village is limited, a mini-bus shuttle service will be operating between the BRDC and the Church from 10am.
