NOTICE OF DEATH - DAVID GOOD (1933 - 2017)
We regret to have to inform Members that Associate Member David Good passed away yesterday, Sunday 29 January. David had been suffering from cancer for some time.
David was invited to become an Associate Member by the Board in 1968. This was due to his achievements in hill climbing, in which he became the British Champion in 1961. David also achieved a number of class wins in events held in Belgium and Switzerland, such as being awarded first in class in the Mountain Champions at Ollon-Villars 1967 Hill Climb.
David was also involved in the organisation of hill climbing events, as Chairman of the Bugatti Owners Club, on the Shell/RAC co-ordinating committee, President of the Hants and Berks Motor Club and was also Director of Wiscombe Park Hill Climb Ltd.
David’s competitive participation was limited to hill climbs and sprints due to being a congenital amputee, with him being unable to obtain medical clearance from the RAC Medical Panel for circuit racing.
The BRDC extends its sincere condolences to David’s children James, Jeremy and Melissa. David's funeral will be held on Thursday 9 February at 11am at St Michael’s Church, High Street, Bray, Berks SL6 2AB followed by a private cremation and reception at The Temple Golf Club, Henley Road, Hurley, Berkshire SL6 5LH. All Members are welcome to attend.
