RAF CRANWELL INVITES SUPERSTARS FOR TRAINING DAY
Six of the 2011 SuperStars, Alex MacDowall, Alexander Sims, Andy Meyrick, Oli Webb, Jack Harvey, and Tom Blomqvist were joined by 2010 SuperStars Adam Christodoulou & Tim Bridgman on Tuesday 15th February for a training day at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.
The day consisted of aptitude tests, leadership skills, teamwork and physical training in a disciplined environment, and it was aimed at assisting the drivers with preparation ahead of the start of the season. The tests were based on the training that RAF fighter pilots have to go through as they prepare to fly.
RAF Cranwell In Lincolnshire is the oldest Air Force College in the world and the Royal Air Force’s most prestigious training unit.
Tim Harvey, Director, BRDC SuperStars “It was a really beneficial day and all of the SuperStars really made the most of it. They very much enjoyed the similarities of mind management and preparation for racing. This is our first event in 2011 and is part of our yearly plan to help the drivers away from the racing environment. My thanks to Tim and Adam for stepping in to cover for the SuperStars who were unable to make the day”.
