PRESIDENTS TEAM TAKE FIRST PRIZE AT RAC CHARITY CUP

Derek Warwick's "BRDC Presidents Team" claimed first prize at the Royal Automobile Club's Charity Cup golf competition at Woodcote Park on Tuesday 24 April.

The President’s Team, which also included Damon Hill OBE, Jason Plato and Tim Harvey completed Woodcote Park’s Old Course with a score of 96 points (Stableford scoring), two points ahead of the News International Team. In third place with 89 points was Steve Rider’s Monaco Scramblers Team.

The Charity Cup included a dinner with guest of honour John Surtees OBE and an auction that raised over £4,000 for the chosen charities, the Henry Surtees Foundation and BEN.

David Wilkinson, Chief Executive and Secretary of the Royal Automobile Club: “We are absolutely delighted with the success of our very first Charity Cup at Woodcote Park. The turnout was beyond our expectations, and we were thrilled to be able to host so many well known names from the motorsport and media industries at our Woodcote Park Old Course. We are very thankful to Sky Sports for all their support, and to John Surtees for attending the evening’s events. We are pleased both the sporting and social side of the day were such a success, and our thanks go to all the participants for supporting our two chosen charities, the Henry Surtees Foundation and BEN, so generously. We are very much looking forward to next year’s event.”
