NOTICE OF DEATH - KEN GREGORY

It is with regret that the Club has to announce the death of Ken Gregory aged 87.

Ken, who was one of motor racing towering characters of the 1950 and early 60s, made his name as Stirling Moss’s manager. His business dealings in the sport extended far beyond managing Stirling (and Peter Collins) and included setting up BRP which raced in Grands Prix between 1958 and 1964.

Later Ken was to become involved in aviation and publishing. His book, Behind the Scenes of Motor Racing remains a great read and was published earlier this year in e-book form. Latterly he retired to Spain, but he remained very fond of Silverstone which he had first encountered during the War when serving at the nearby Finmere airfield with the Glider Pilot Regiment.

Ken’s funeral details are not yet known, but they will be placed on the Club website as soon as possible.
