CHANGES TO THE BRDC BOARD
After nearly four years as Chairman of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC), Robert Brooks has taken the decision to stand down from the role. Stuart Rolt, a former Chairman of the Club, will resume his previous role at the beginning of February.
Brooks will continue to serve as a BRDC Board Director for the remainder of his mandate, seeing the many projects and programmes initiated during his Chairmanship through to fruition. He will also rejoin the Board of Silverstone Holdings Limited (SHL), the commercial arm of the BRDC Group of Companies, taking the place of Rolt, who has been an SHL director for almost seven years.
“It has been a great privilege and honour to serve as BRDC Chairman since 2007”, said Brooks. “With the Club and business established on sound footings, it is time to hand over the reigns and devote more of my time to my own company, Bonhams. I will continue to do whatever I can for the Club in any capacity. With Stuart resuming the chairmanship we could not be in better hands and I am ever more confident the Club faces a strong and stable future.”
The BRDC is also pleased to announce that Jonathan Baker, a founder of the British venture capital business ICL, has joined the BRDC Board. As the Club continues its search for potential investors, Baker’s valued experience from the private equity world further strengthens the commercial expertise of the board.
