This weekend saw the 86th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race very close to the heart of the BRDC. With 34 drivers of the main race entry list associated with the BRDC and others involved in the Michelin Le Mans Cup support race, there was strong representation for the Club. Congratulations to all of those who participated in the world’s toughest endurance race, and to the following BRDC Members who achieved podium success at Le Mans and elsewhere:
FIA World Endurance Championship at Le Mans
Fernando Alonso (Honorary Member) - 1st
Mike Conway (Full Member) - 2nd
Michelin Le Mans Cup at Le Mans
Duncan Tappy (Full Member) - 1st in race two
Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in Fuji
Chris van der Drift (Full Member) - 1st in race one and 2nd in race two
MotoGP in Barcelona
Valentino Rossi (Honorary Member) - 3rd
This coming weekend, there will be BRDC Members and Young Drivers competing in the following categories:
- FIA Formula One World Championship, FIA Formula 2 Championship and GP3 Series at Circuit Paul Ricard
- IndyCar Series, Pro Mazda Series and USF2000 at Road America
- FIA Formula 3 European Series and DTM at Norisring
- FIA World Touring Car Cup at Vila Real
- British Touring Car Championship and Renault UK Clio Cup at Croft
- VLN Championship at Nurburgring Nordschleife
